Is there some way
that people visiting my site can give it a rating for the Nigerian
Directory?
Absolutely! Once your site is listed in the site Database, you'll
be able to provide your visitors with an easy form with which
to rate your site. Since the sites are ranked by ratings, encouraging
your current visitors to rate your site can help you get even
more traffic to your site. You can find the necessary code, here.
Be sure to follow the instructions carefully (don't worry, it's
quite easy).
How are sites sorted?
In all pages except for the "Top Rated," sites are organized by
category, and "Premium" sites are always listed first, in alphabetical
order. The rest of the sites are sorted alphabetically below the
Premium sites. When you browse a category, Premium sites are first,
then new sites, the rest in alphabetical order. When you do a
search, the results are sorted by "score" — the system lists what
it deems the best results for your search terms at the top of
the list.
How often is the Nigerian Directory Database updated?
The Nigerian Directory is updated automatically every 24 hours.
At that time, everything such as ratings, hits, votes, etc. will
be recalculated and updated. New sites which have been approved
and modified sites which have been approved will also be added.
Please note that when you submit a new site, or submit a modification
for a site, it will not necessarily be included in the next update
— it first needs to be looked at and approved by us, which may
take up to a few days. Once we have approved or rejected your
site, you'll receive an email letting you know, and (if it was
approved) you'll then find it in the Nigerian Directory within
six hours of approval.

and pop
mean?
new designates
a site which was added to the database within the last 7 days.
pop designates
a site which is popular, as determined by number of hits.
What constitutes a Popular site?
Popular sites are determined by the number of hits they get —
that is, the number of times someone has clicked on a site from
the Nigerian Directory . The top 25 most popular sites are listed
in the "What's Popular" page, and denoted on all pages by pop.
What constitutes a New site?
A site is considered new if it was added to the database within
the last 7 days. New sites are listed in the "What's New" pages,
and denoted on all pages by new.
